Lowering the bar-Americans Failure-Boiled Frog Syndrome
One-size-fits-all Thinking and Recommending-if it works for me, it's good for you
Regardless of differences.

It's funny, I used to bring up the boiled frog thing in conversation and no one knew what I was talking about. Now, with the slow but sure erosion of civil and human rights in the Bush era, it's popular again, at least within the thinking class.
Because the process is so slow and insidious and we, as animals, are so blind to gradual changes, I have little hope for humanity becoming other then what we see today. I accept that we will always be violent creatures because we don't notice anything until we are violated, and we are unaware of the violence unconsciously created.
For me, no boiled-frog syndrome at all. I felt, in December 2000 when the Supreme Court decided Bush v. Gore that I'd been dropped into a cauldron of boiling shit.
