Just want to mark this date that the last telegram
has been sent. Those were the days ! Getting or
sending one was a blast...an adventure. As a youngun
traveling, it was a safe haven too, to get money
from home. And I want to honor the messengers who
originally went to your door or to your hotel or
theatre to deliver.

I'm not old enough to have ever received or sent a telegram, but I remember the days where having a pen-pal meant actually receiving some real mail in your mailbox. As a kid it was really exciting to check that day's mail and find out that you had a real handwritten letter waiting for you, maybe with some photographs too if you were real lucky. Now these days it is the instant message sent through email. They're exciting, too, but not nearly as exciting as opening that mailbox and finding an envelop addressed to me. :)
