We live by killing

After 9/11 I thought we humans in our great country had the opportunity to show the world how to resolve fear and pain
in a different way...by working with the issues and the people who have themselves had so much pain and fear. We know
how to do it in psychotherapy to help people become loving, gentle, caring adults after incredible fear and pain.

Well, we didn't do it.....just reverted back to killing, which humans have done throughout history. I want to understand why
always the killing as a solution, and have been working on that answer for some time. Alan Watts gave me a clue and this
is how I now understand it. We murder the bodies of plants and animals everyday to eat...to live. Watts poses the question, "Is there any way of avoiding, mitigating, or generally cooling this system of murder and agony which is required
for the existence of even the most saintly human being?" A Zen Buddhist said, "when we kill vegetables, they don't
scream so loud."

We are daily killers. What a habit! What an addiction! When we kill life everyday in order to live, it's such an easy unconscious shift to kill more life. Obsessive-compulsive behavior. One more killing is no different then one more olive.
It's a sickness that we will always have with us.

We live by killing and that explains to me why we will always kill humans as well as other animals and plants. It's just
like a food addiction in that we can never get free of the need to eat, tho we can get free of the need to drink alcohol or
take drugs, or smoke cigarettes, or watch TV. We can live without those ,but not without killing life.

It is in our cells, like aging, like depression. It's biochemical, hate is. We have to teach the children. Only in their deepest consciousness lives the cellular possibility of peace.

Don't you think we first have to teach them consciousness of the daily killing of life in order for them to have life? And the hope for the future is that they are well enough to not have any addictions. Without obsessive-compulsive disease, one can be more loving and compassionate and can make conscious decisions to not kill other humans even tho they may be killing you.
By the way, I and many others do not believe depression is biological.
