who is Dee Hock?

Dee Hock is the author of Birth of the Chaordic Age. I found it immensely meaningful for
the needs of mankind and the needs of the earth as well as interesting stuff about himself.
He was the one who started and implemented the credit card system. Remember when
there were no credit cards?  He wrote the book after he retired to a life close to the earth.

Mandela continued . . . .

He was a man of faith. He grew up in a small village where his father was very important, but his father's ego
became overinflated and he ended up losing everything he had and Nelson was then raised by a relative in
another town who also was a leader.

a few answer on Mandela

Mandela was raised to be a leader who would help to resolve problems by treating people with
love and respect, even his enemies. He saw it as his responsibility to change the practices of
an enemy ( like Gandhi). He was big on forgiveness too., but that still doesn't explain, so more later.
He must have had the capacity to not-get-hooked when guards threw out their nets of hatred.
 
Ram Dass used to talk about people always throwing out their nets of who they are , who you are,
etc, etc, and would say, "if you get caught, that's your problem". Most of us get caught on rejection
instead of seeing that the one who is doing the rejection is the one with the problem. We are
loveable and when a person is rejecting, it says more about them then the one they reject.
The process also mean that when we are unloving or rejecting the trouble is in us.

just 27 years of abuse . . . .

Nelson Mandela was a lawyer who did what I would want a good lawyer to do...fight for freedom 
and equality. For this he was sent to prison where he was abused emotionally and physically for
27 years, and he did draw from his soul all the poison accumulated by that unjust punishment.
Political transformation in S. Africa was enabled by his personal capacity to purge any poison
of hatred or revenge from his soul, to rise above bitterness, and cause reconciliation between
opposing forces and achieve freedom and equality for so many.How did he do that?
 
Seamus Heaney wrote . . 
 
"Human beings suffer.
They torture one another.
They get hurt and get hard.
No poem or play or song
Can fully right a wrong
Inflicted and endured.
 
History say, Don't hope
On this side of the grave,
But then, once in a lifetime

some good news and bad....

Just saw the headlines that sales of SUVs have tanked.
 
One year ago in Sept. in Hong Kong, one-half (1/2) of  its
legislative body was elected by the "non-human vote''
The government in Hong Kong allows corporations to cast
votes. They and other special interest groups place their 
own reps in the legislative body, filling half the seats, last
year.  I'm sure the corps think that is such a good idea that
we should have it here too..

what God wants . . .

Thats the title of Neale Walsch's book.He tells how to get what you want
in a slightly different way...same story. "And the fastest way to call anything forth
is to give it to another. You cannot give to another something that you do not have, yet
it is the giving of it that produces the having of it." So if you want abundance, give money
to someone who has less. If you want love , give love and it will come. If you want friendships
then be a friend to others. "This teaching can be summed up in three words, BE THE SOURCE.
That which you wish to experience, cause another to experience."

LOOKING OUT

Some people invite me to live
Some invite me to die.

Some invite me to live their way

But invite me to die when I do.

I invite some people to live

And I am joyous when they do.

EPILOG

If I invite people to live their way
When it's harmful to them or to me,
Do I invite us to die?
And when I judge what is harmful.
I wonder what is not harmful.
